Ruracio & traditional ceremony cakes

A ruracio brings two families together, and the cake table is often a talking point. We bake traditional-themed cakes that honour Kenyan culture, from kiondo baskets and gourds to cooking-pot designs.

Cakes with a cultural touch

Our ruracio cakes can be shaped and decorated like a kiondo, a gourd (kinya), a traditional cooking pot or a shield, in earthy colours or your ceremony colours. We can make a single statement cake or a set of smaller cakes for the table. We also bake cakes for other rites of passage, such as boyhood-to-manhood celebrations.

Planning and notice

Sculpted and multi-piece cakes take time, so give us at least 3 days' notice and more for larger sets. Prices start from KSh 2,500/kg, and each cake can be any flavour from our list at no extra charge. Message us your guest numbers and ideas and we'll suggest sizes.

Delivery to the ceremony

We deliver to homes and venues around Juja, Ruiru, Thika and Nairobi, and the delivery fee is confirmed on WhatsApp. Pairing your ruracio with a later wedding? See our wedding cakes.

Good to know
